May Basket of Hope
This month we are collecting items to be taken to Guatemala by our team. The organization we work with, Fundamaya, works with the Mayan population in many ways, primarily through a system of preschools and an elder care community center.
There is also a new sewing course that Fundamaya offers. The students receive instruction in sewing and in running a business. When they graduate, they are given a sewing machine. The CCP Sewing Ministry has supported the sewing course by sending fabric, thread, and sewing machines.
The following items have been requested for the various programs.
For the Preschools:
• New socks
• New and gently used shoes, size 10-2
For the Elderly Mayans:
• Reading glasses (any magnification)
• Canes
